Efficiency
Eliminate Post-Sort Bottlenecks
Eliminate manual order movement between sortation and packing. xChangeTote keeps orders flowing continuously to the right downstream destination, removing the risk of orders being misplaced, overlooked, or left sitting in the sorter. The result is uninterrupted order flow that keeps packing stations consistently supplied.
Capacity
Maximize Capacity by Going Vertical
xChangeTote can scale up to five levels high, allowing you to increase order capacity without expanding your warehouse footprint. Make better use of vertical space while efficiently storing, buffering, and moving completed orders to packing.
Flexibility
Route, Buffer, and Sequence Orders for Any Workflow
Handle a wide range of products and order profiles across B2C, B2B, and omnichannel operations. xChangeTote accommodates square, round, loose, and bagged items and can buffer orders until they’re ready for the next step. Orders can be released in the sequence you choose, supporting different workflows within a single system.
Labor
Reduce Manual Labor Requirements
Replace manual tote handling with automated transport using conveyors or ground-based AMRs to move completed orders to packing. This reduces the need for manual labor while keeping orders moving continuously and helping your operation maintain higher throughput.
Modularity
Deploy Quickly & Achieve ROI Faster
Built with standard components and designed to handle greater floor variation than most AMR-based systems, xChangeTote can be added to both existing tSort installations and new deployments. Whether upgrading a brownfield facility or implementing a greenfield project, it minimizes facility preparation and installation time to help you deploy faster and realize ROI sooner.
How xChangeTote Works
1. Sort Items
tSort sorts items into designated totes or cartons, while photoeye or AI vision identifies when a container is full.
2. Move & Buffer Orders
A rack robot removes the full container and transfers it to a floor robot or takeaway conveyor, which moves the completed order to the pack station. Orders can also be buffered in the xChangeTote racks until they’re ready for packing.
3. Pack & Return
At the pack station, the operator removes the tote or carton from the robot. The robot then returns to the system to continue operations.
Smarter Fulfillment for Every Industry
Frequently Asked Questions
xChangeTote is designed to work with a wide variety of tote and carton shapes and sizes up to 24" wide, giving operations the flexibility to use the containers that best fit their operation. Multiple container types can be used within the same system. This helps support changing product mixes and fulfillment requirements without requiring a dedicated system for each container type.
The tSort robots can handle items weighing up to 11 pounds as they sort them into containers. Floor robots can transport containers holding orders weighing up to 60 pounds from tSort to packing stations.
xChangeTote can use ground-based AMRs or takeaway conveyors to transport completed orders from the sorter to pack stations, depending on the requirements of the operation.
Yes. xChangeTote can buffer completed or partially completed orders in its rack system, holding them until they’re ready for the next step and sequencing them to meet your fulfillment requirements.
Unlike automated putwalls that rely on extensive fixed machinery and custom structures, xChangeTote uses standard racks and modular components that can be added, expanded, relocated, or reconfigured as your operation changes. This allows you to increase capacity or change your layout with minimal disruption to ongoing operations, without the construction project and fixed infrastructure typically required to modify an automated putwall.
